VEDIC, a thinktank for learning and innovation and a residential centre serving as a holistic platform for interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaboration and sharing of best practices in education, research and academic leadership.

Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Centre (VEDIC) is a unique privately funded residential campus established in 2016, where faculty members, staff and students interact in a collaborative environment with global experts to create rich, engaging experiences to further innovations in learning and research.

The changing expectations of students from learning environments, globalization and rapid pace of technological change as well as present unique challenges to higher educational institutions today.

Faculty and staff need to adapt themselves to embrace the pace of these changes and prepare themselves for the future.

Our Mission

The Mission of VEDIC is to facilitate and provide transformative interactive learning experiences for the leadership, faculty, students and support staff of the Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) institutions that will enable them to adapt to the fast-pace of changes in the field of education.

In the exclusive residential-retreat style campus of VEDIC, faculty, students and leaders undergo holistic development programmes that are a blend of current best practices in corporate and academic environments all around the world.

Our Objectives

  • Design, develop and deliver training sessions and consultations on innovative educational practices, leadership, emotional intelligence, personality development, research methods, career development etc. for faculty and students.
  • Deliver industry-oriented skill development and placement-oriented training programmes in cutting edge areas for faculty and students.
  • Provide a platform for faculty to:
    • Promote and share best practices in education
    • Share expertise in technical domains
    • Form interdisciplinary research collaborations
  • Build a core team of faculty reviewers and co-facilitators for offering the training sessions and consultations.
  • Build innovative educational technology solutions for pedagogical challenges.

Our History

VEDIC was started with the vision of “Mentoring the Mentors” with training facilities of international standards. It was inaugurated by the honorable Chairman of Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES), Sri K V Vishnu Raju on 17th of April 2016 and started its first training programme on 28th of April, 2016. Dr. Srinivasan Sundarrajan, Retd. Director, NIT Trichy, is the Founding Director of VEDIC and the SVES group. Dr. Rajeev Sukumaran, Senior Advisor, Teaching and Learning Centre, IIT Madras played a crucial role in the ideation and creation of VEDIC.
